This is an interesting clip I found on Youtube featuring Kerry King and Marty Friedman (if you don’t know why they are famous, then you shouldn’t be on this blog) jamming to a bunch of classic metal songs. Enjoy!
Just wanted you to know that after having followed your blog for a little while following the recommendation on heavymetal.about.com that I’m stopping doing so as of this post. I don’t know what kind of readers you’re trying to attract but your constant patronising, arrogant and elitist tone in your blog entries is just downright repulsive.
Matthew – Sorry if I offended you bro, however, if you have been following my blog, you’d know that I am quite the opposite of being elitist. I wrote an entire blog entry on my interest on Avenged Sevenfold just a few days ago, I have interviewed and reviewed metal that many a traditionalist would deem unworthy of being covered on a metal site, and I have panned the very notion of elitism on this blog several times. Obviously I am not going to go out of my way to alienate my reader base, but you also need to realize I am an opinionated smart ass, and I won’t shy away from writing even the lamest attempts at humor. The same goes for every writer who writes for AMR. I’d even say its mandatory for you to be a smart ass prior to beginning a tenure of writing here.
Repulsive? Man…that’s harsh.
You’re 100% right, Cody. You don’t belong here if you don’t know who Marty Friedman and Kerry King are. This is a METAL blog.
Personally, I think the site could stand to be more elitist. While it is great that we do branch out to various genres for reviews, I think we could stand to eliminate Screamo from our so-called repertoire. And I will be damned if I ever see a review of an In This Moment CD on this blog.
Oh and this video is pretty cool. Absurdly cheeseball production but pretty cool.
