Music Video: Widespread Panic – Fairies Wear Boots?!

Anyone who has ventured into any “counter culture” strongholds (aka anywhere where patchouli permeates the air), will have surely heard the This is the Song That Never Ends by bands like Phish, Deep Banana Blackout and other jam bands. However, one widely known act, Widespread Panic, who are legends of the scene, decided to break out a heavy metal staple for the Bonaroo Festival crowd last year in the form of Black Sabbath’s “Fairies Wear Boots.” Is it a jam? Yes. Is it metal? Well…no, but what do you expect? Check out the performance in the below video and tell me what you think, but overall, I think its a fairly faithful rendition. Could Widespread Panic be responsible for the metallization of this year’s festival with the inclusion of Metallica and The Sword? We may never know.
