Review: The Resurrection Sorrow – Hour of the Wolf (2009)
New York’s The Resurrection Sorrow’s claim to metal is of the stoner variety. And when I say stoner, I mean classic stoner metal. There is nothing “post metal” about the band’s debut effort, Hour of the Wolf, this is hard nosed muddy riff after muddy riff giving away a sound that can be likened to [...]
Revocation Premieres New Video For Dismantle the Dictator
The guys over at Ultimate-Guitar.tv have premiered the video for Revocation’s “Dismantle the Dictator” from their Relapse debut, Existence is Futile. It’s a typical metal video for an average technical death metal band. I dunno, I am not sold on these guys. Everyone is raving about their technical chops (which they do have), but there’s [...]
Rage Against the Pop Charts! Exclusive Interview And Performance With Rage Against the Machine
Rage Against the Machine is back, this time representing a grassroots campaign by the public to get Rage to the #1 spot on the Holiday music charts in the UK. The last time I heard, RATM had made it to #1! Whether or not they are holding true is another thing though, as their competition [...]

This is huge news for Avantastia fans! Andre is a fantastic vocalist and with the other announced roster off guests, this could very well shape up to be one of Tobias’ best.
Tobias commented on Andre’s inclusion: “In 2008 André was part of the AVANTASIA live ensemble when we played the world tour which culminated in [...]

GOZERK! What the Hell?
The Spanish have thrown me a zinger! The band is called Gozerk and they have arrived to bless thee with groove laden, Slayer love making death metal. Having released a new EP in September, Gozerk want to show that Europe has what it takes to take on the American groove kings. Make no mistake though, [...]
Check It Out! Control Denied – The Fragile Art of Existence (1999)
Prior to Chuck Schuldiner’s untimely passing, he was beginning to make new waves with his band, Control Denied, which is a U.S. Power Metal band with the same technical wrangling ever so present in latter Death albums (i.e. that trademarked Death guitar and bass tone). Chuck shows with Control Denied that his vision of metal [...]
Review: Falling to Pieces – Awaken the Weak (2009)
Falling to Pieces, the Bay area metalcore quintet perhaps most notable for having former Bleeding Through guitarist Scott DaNough amongst its ranks, has released its second full length record, Awaken the Weak. By combining the stylings of the late Light This City, with a little early Bleeding Through, Falling to Pieces attempt to take a [...]
Review: The AntiKaroshi – Crushed Neocons (2009)
The AntiKaroshi. *Sigh* Let me first start by saying that this style isn’t my cup of tea. I honestly can say that I cannot name one Indie band that I like. I find that this experimental genre to be taken in directions that rarely do any good. Indie stands for the unconventional, as does all [...]
Music Video: Thin Lizzy – Emerald
Thin Lizzy laid the blueprints for bands like Iron Maiden, with “Emerald” being a perfect example with the duel guitar work and epic feel. Yet another band ruined by drugs.
