New Artist Watch: Walking With Strangers

Here at AMR, we like to give the little guy a break, no matter how small they may be. If they have put together a proper promo and have come to us looking for promotion, we will do our best to give an honest assessment of their work. However, in light of the ever growing demand for promo reviews from independent artists, I am taking it upon myself to help alleviate the pains of avoiding half assed reviews that might not do a band justice, to doing spotlight features on some of the newer, less established acts that have their act together. This won’t be a critical piece, because if a band is as good as their promo packages say they are, their music should speak for themselves. Now, obviously it should go without saying if you are a regular reader here at AMR, that our reviews system won’t change; we will continue to review predominantly independent artists on smaller labels. This is an integral part of All Metal Resource.
In our first write up for our New Artist Watch, we have Sweden’s own Walking With Strangers.
Deathcore has invaded Sweden folks! They gave us melodic death metal, and now we return the favor with the sound of deathcore…poor saps. All kidding aside (sort of), Walking With Strangers has committed to the cause of their music with a well put together music video, fantastic promo package (not that that matters to anyone but myself), and a well produced album. Really, in terms of a band’s ability to independently reach out to the media, this is a premiere way to get your band noticed. Then of course is the quality of music, which is obviously the bread and butter, and really, Walking With Strangers are here to brand themselves as a quintessential example of European deathcore.
